Oscar Shortlist for the VFX Category

[ #Oscar #MotionGraphics #vfx #film #Award #news ]Preparations for the annual Oscar awards are ongoing, and nominations have begun. 10 movies have already been shortlisted for Outstanding Visual Effects category. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is on the list as well as Okja which is the Netflix movie from Bong Joon-ho which just started airing in cinemas.

Below are the shortlisted movies for the category:
Alien: Covenant
Blade Runner 2049
Dunkirk
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Kong: Skull Island
Okja
The Shape of Water
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
War for the Planet of the Apes

On January 6, members of the VFX team would assess 10-minute excerpts from the shortlisted films and 5 films would be further selected and would be unveiled on the January 23. The 90th Oscars are Sunday, March 4.
