[ #VR #Hardware #HTCVive #news ] Logitech announced last week, an integration with the Vive Tracker which would help to bring the keyboard into VR for the first time. The project was developed as a solution to the problem of text entry in virtual reality.
The kit consists of a Logitech G gaming keyboard, an accessory that positions a Vive Tracker correctly on the keyboard, and the associated software (valued at MSRP U.S. $150). Logitech will be seeding 50 of these kits to select developers with the goal of partnering to create compelling new experiences centered around a VR keyboard. By simply hooking the tracker to the keyboard, the software will position a 3D virtual keyboard model over the real one.
