Ventana - a 2017 animated short created by Walt Disney Animation Studios interns as part of the Talent Development Program combining computer animation and handdrawn characters was released on Facebook on October 19, 2017.
The film is about a cleaning girl at the seaside cottage of an old sea captain is inspired to go on her own adventures by a sea serpent living in old sea charts.

The intern explained how Ventana came to be:Brian (head of story) gave me a basic outline saying, here’s a little girl, here’s the environment, here’s a 2D dragon that appears only on the surfaces of the map. So he gave me the rules of the world, and the age that this girl was, but it was like a sandbox. He explained it as wanting to give us a good sandbox to build a world.
The interns have done an amazing short film and we can't wait to see what their next step.
