Thinkbox Software has released the fifth revision for Deadline 9.0. It fixes a few bugs that have been reported during the 9.0 release cycle and adds some minor improvements, including support for Silhouette 6 and Unreal Engine “offline” render.

Highlight features:

• Reduced the number of database connections that many of the Deadline applications can keep open. This mainly cuts down on the number of connections when using hundreds or thousands of render nodes.
• Improved how the Deadline applications deal with Event Sandbox crashes/lockups.
• Reports will now be generated when the Event Sandbox crashes and/or stops responding.
• Added the ability to disable the Event Sandbox for the Slave, Pulse, and Monitor applications in the Repository Configuration.
• Fixed a bug that resulted in the wrong CPU core count being shown in the CPU Affinity section of the Local Slave Controls.
• Made some performance improvements to the Housecleaning and Repository Repair operations.
• Overhauled the Draft and Project Management panels in the submitters to make them more intuitive.
• The Deadline version number is now included when the local application logs for the Deadline applications roll over to the next day.
• The process used by the Deadline applications to get the machine’s MAC address is now more reliable on Linux.
• Fixed a bug where task times were being saved when the job failed.

See the Deadline 9.0 User Manual for the complete release notes.
