Under Armour ‘Rule Yourself’ | Behind the Scenes

In the part of Under Armour's new campaign, American Ballet Theatre Misty Copeland, NBA MVP Steph Curry and pro golfer Jordan Spieth in ‘Rule Yourself’ part of Under Armour's new campaign. The Mill teamed up with Droga5 and RESET Director Wally Pfister on the five-spot campaign that demonstrates how each person is the sum of all their training.

The sport begins with solo shots of each of these athletes and unfolds into an army of ballet dancers, golfers and basketball players perfecting their game- multiple Stephen Curry’s simultaneously dribble two basketball’s, Jordan Spieth sends thousands of golf balls catapulting into the air and an army of Misty Copeland's twirl around in one giant circle.

Go behind the scenes film of Under Armour's ‘Rule Yourself’ campaign starring Misty Copeland, Stephen Curry and Jordan Spieth, created in collaboration with Droga5 and RESET Director Wally Pfister. In order to maximize the time on set time, a special five-camera array on a horizontal rig was devised to multiply the shots produced from each take. The team also used motion capture and Massive to create CG doubles and populate each environment, producing armies of ballet dancers, golfers and basketball players perfecting their game.


The Mill’s 3D team created CG doubles of each background using Massive, and motion capture to populate each environment with the characters. For the Massive build The Mill’s 3D team did four individual motion captures. The team also went as far as getting full 3D head scans of each athlete on set, giving the ability to bring the Massive digital doubles closer to camera.
