Updates to Sequencer
Sequencer has been updated with a slew of new features for high-end cinematography. Live recording from gameplay has been significantly improved. Also, you can now transfer shots and animations back and forth from external applications.
Animation
Many new animation features are available now! Try out the new Pose Asset for blend space functionality for bone poses, check out Persona's new animation node pose watching and enable the Physical Animation Component which allows skeletal meshes to respond realistically to physical forces.
VR Template
Added a new VR template with settings optimized to run in VR at 90 frames per second and out-of-thebox implementation of VR gameplay features. The template includes two methods of locomotion designed for gamepads and motion controllers. With motion controllers, you can teleport to different locations and grab and throw objects.
Alembic Support (Experimental)
Alembic animation import is now supported (experimental) allowing for complex animations to be authored offline, then rendered in real-time inside UE4
VR Editor Updates
The VR Editor now supports mesh and foliage painting! Have fun with the new transform gizmo and VR color picking. In addition, you can now instantly play your game in VR while creating with the VR Editor.
Platform SDK Updates
added the latest SDK support for Vulkan, Xbox One, PS4, Oculus, SteamVR, Google VR, OSVR, Android services such as Google Play, plus iOS and tvOS.
