The new modern singular mesh system is an architectural pillar that greatly expands the possibilities for future LightWave development, but specifically for the next release it is already providing immediate advantages that will benefit our users. The video first shows Layout performance when handling complex assets and mesh deformations. These optimizations were much easier to implement using the new Unified Mesh System and yielded larger performance improvements than would have been possible with the previous two disparate mesh systems. Beyond making the development process easier, it also brings immediate performance improvements for the user, particularly with mesh deformations and related mesh data manipulations as you will see in the video.
We’re already quite pleased and encouraged by the results of this initial implementation of the Unified Mesh System and we are still in the process of continuing our optimizations and efforts to further unlock additional workflow and speed benefits related to this very important foundation of LightWave.
